Charming Shaded Garden

Memorial, Houston

Landscapes are living spaces, continually shaped by time and changing conditions. At this Memorial-area property, a maturing tree canopy has transformed once-sunny areas into deep shade, prompting the garden to evolve along with it. Garden beds have expanded to incorporate more shade-loving plants, while lawn areas have become smaller and synthetic turf has been introduced where needed. Gravel pathways have been added and expanded, carving charming routes through the sun-flecked landscape. Tucked-away seating and a rustic fire pit create quiet places to gather while adding to the serenity of the shady, forested setting.
